The Llano de la Cruz district in Ronda will host its traditional Verbena del Carmen on July 17 and 18, featuring a varied programme that includes beer tasting, bingo, a water castle, and free communal rice.
The municipal delegate for Districts, Alicia López, and the president of the ‘Cayetano Arroyo’ Neighbourhood Association, Antonio Calvente, presented the programme for the Verbena del Carmen that will take place in the Ronda district of Llano de la Cruz this Wednesday. The event, which is taking place once again, will unfold over the days of July 17 and 18 with a wide range of activities for all ages.
Programme for Friday, July 17
The festivities will kick off on Friday night with the official inauguration. Attendees will be able to enjoy a beer tasting and live musical performances. Additionally, there will be a popular bingo with numerous prizes, one of the highlights of the evening.
The organisation is managed by the neighbourhood association, with the collaboration of the Ronda City Council and several local businesses. Antonio Calvente expressed gratitude for the support received and highlighted the collective effort to keep this tradition alive.
Saturday, July 18: Activities for the whole family
On Saturday, the programme intensifies with offerings designed for both children and adults. Among this year’s new features is a water slide castle, perfect for combating the heat. There will also be a foam party and free communal rice for all attendees.
In the evening, musical performances will once again take centre stage, and bingo will be repeated with new prizes. The verbena is consolidating itself as the last of the district festivities in the summer calendar in Ronda, bringing together numerous families each year.
López has invited both locals and visitors from the region to come to Llano de la Cruz and participate in this festive event. “It’s an opportunity to socialise and enjoy the rural atmosphere,” the councillor noted.
Entry is free, and it is recommended to arrive early to find parking. The Llano de la Cruz district is located about 15 kilometres from the centre of Ronda, accessible via the MA-7401 road.
