The mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Jesús Lupiáñez, met with business associations and merchants to address the waste tax bills and possible duplications. A specific meeting with advisors will take place on Wednesday.
The mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Jesús Lupiáñez, held a working meeting on Monday with representatives from the business and merchant associations of Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar, along with municipal technicians, to discuss the situation surrounding the waste tax bills imposed by the central government.
The meeting particularly focused on cases of self-employed individuals and businesses where duplications may have occurred due to the declared economic activities. The Town Hall stated that it will study each case individually, analysing the specific circumstances of each activity and the information available in the municipal records.
The Town Hall reminded that it had previously advised self-employed individuals and businesses to keep their economic activity census updated, precisely so that the information in the municipal records corresponds with the reality of each business.
The mayor emphasised the Town Hall's willingness to listen directly to the business community and address each case that may require a review, keeping dialogue open with entrepreneurs, merchants, and professionals.
As a result of the meeting, which also included councillors Manuel Gutiérrez and David Vilches, it was agreed to hold another working session specifically aimed at advisory and business management professionals. This meeting will take place on next Wednesday at 19:00 in the Plenary Hall of the Vélez-Málaga Town Hall.
The aim will be to directly explain to the advisors the procedures and available channels for submitting the corresponding appeals, so they can convey this information clearly and accurately to their clients and guide them in cases where they believe a review should be requested.
