The Town Hall of Rincón de la Victoria and AMIRAX renew their collaboration to promote the social and labour inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities through a gardening project.

The Town Hall of Rincón de la Victoria has renewed its collaboration with the Association of Disabled People of Rincón de la Victoria-Axarquía (AMIRAX) to continue with a training and occupational gardening project. The initiative aims to facilitate the social and labour inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

The mayor, Francisco Salado, and the president of AMIRAX, Ángeles Rodríguez, have signed the new agreement, which will have an annual municipal contribution of 86,598.85 euros. The agreement will be valid for four years, with the possibility of extending it for another four.

Salado explained that the agreement "reinforces our municipal commitment to inclusion policies and the generation of opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities." The mayor added that "it is a commitment to inclusion, training, and equality of opportunities."

The councillor for Parks and Gardens, Manuel García, highlighted that the project combines two objectives: to offer training and experience to people with intellectual disabilities and to contribute to the care of green areas in the municipality. García emphasized that the actions "will in no case replace the municipal services for the conservation and maintenance of green areas."

The initiative includes cleaning, watering, and planting tasks, using non-electric hand tools. Participants will carry out their activities in different municipal green areas, acquiring skills in a real work environment.

The president of AMIRAX, Ángeles Rodríguez, expressed her satisfaction with the renewal of the agreement, which will allow the continuation of a project aimed at the social and labour inclusion of people with disabilities from the association.

This agreement is part of the collaboration that the Town Hall maintains with AMIRAX, an entity that works in the Axarquía region. The residents of Rincón de la Victoria will be able to see the results of these actions in the maintenance of the parks and gardens in the municipality.
