The Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall is promoting a campaign for residents to use the free collection service for furniture and items. Fines for abandonment in public spaces can reach up to €1,500.
The Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall has launched the citizen awareness campaign 'Don't Be Furniture / Move It!', aimed at preventing residents from abandoning furniture, items, and appliances in public spaces or next to containers. The initiative, driven by the Environmental Sustainability Department through GREENCÓN, seeks to encourage the proper use of the municipal bulky waste collection service.
The service is available 365 days a year and must be requested in advance. To do this, residents should call 952 97 12 34 between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM and indicate the furniture or items they wish to have removed. Once the request is made, they will be given the assigned location, as well as the corresponding day and time slot, along with an authorization code that certifies that the deposit has been arranged with the service.
The Councillor for Environmental Sustainability, Borja Ortiz, stated that “citizen participation is essential to achieve a cleaner and more cared-for Rincón de la Victoria. We want all residents to know that they have a simple and free service available to remove their furniture and items without needing to abandon them on the street.”
For his part, the Mayor, Francisco Salado, assured that “this initiative aims to be a call for participation and civic responsibility, reinforcing everyone’s commitment to caring for our public spaces and improving urban cleanliness. Together we can achieve a cleaner, more sustainable, and pleasant municipality to live in.”
“With a simple call, the removal of items can be coordinated and prevent them from remaining in public spaces, generating issues of urban image, health, or safety,” adds Ortiz.
The campaign includes a dissemination strategy that will combine direct mail, digital communication, audiovisual content, and targeted advertising within the municipality, aiming to ensure that the information reaches the entire citizenry.
The Town Hall reminds that the Municipal Cleaning Ordinance includes fines of between €60 and €750 for minor infractions and up to €1,500 for serious ones. Additionally, residents who prefer can personally take their items to the municipal Clean Point, located at Barriada Las Zorreras, number 8.
