The Plenary of the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall approved the revision of the local Civil Protection Emergency Territorial Plan (PTEL) this Thursday. The document updates risks, resources, and procedures for action and is now sent to the Civil Protection Commission of Andalusia for approval.
The Plenary of the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall, held this Thursday, approved the revision of the Local Civil Protection Emergency Territorial Plan (PTEL), the document that establishes how the municipality is organised and coordinated in the event of an emergency or disaster. The vote passed with the support of PP, PMP, and VOX, while PSOE and Con Rincón chose to abstain.
The Councillor for Civil Protection, Pepi Carnero, explained that the revision allows for the adaptation of planning to the current state and regional regulatory framework and the present reality of the municipality. As she detailed, the document updates existing risks, available means and resources, operational structures, and procedures for action and coordination in the event of a possible emergency.
“The update of this document is essential for our planning and to improve our response capacity in any emergency situation,” Carnero stated.
The Mayor, Francisco Salado, defended the usefulness of the plan to coordinate municipal and emergency services when necessary.
“This plan allows us to have an updated tool to prevent, organise, and coordinate the response of the various municipal and emergency services when needed. The safety of our residents is our priority, and planning and prevention are fundamental to act quickly and effectively in any eventuality,” Salado affirmed.
The text incorporates planning adapted to the current territorial reality of Rincón de la Victoria and establishes the local response structure, as well as the catalogue of available means and resources. It also includes the updating of territorial information and the study of risks within the municipality, along with the review of action and coordination mechanisms.
Carnero linked the need for this revision to the growth that Rincón de la Victoria has experienced in recent years, with territorial characteristics that, in her opinion, necessitate having updated and effective planning.
Before reaching the Plenary, the Local Civil Protection Board gave a favourable report on the revision in the session of April 28, unanimously by those present. Additionally, a meeting was held with spokespersons and members of opposition groups to present the content of the document and gather their contributions.
Following its approval by the Plenary, the document will be sent to the Civil Protection Commission of Andalusia for its homologation, in accordance with current regulations.
