The Municipal Swimming School of Nerja has capped off its season with the celebration of the Final of the Provincial Swimming Circuit, an event that brought together 180 swimmers from Álora, Archidona, Estepona, Benalmádena, Campillos, and the host municipality this Tuesday.
The day, marked by sportsmanship and camaraderie, included freestyle events of 25, 50, and 100 meters according to the participants' categories, as well as male, female, and mixed relays. The local swimmers responded with an outstanding performance: they achieved a total of ten podiums.
Among the standout names from the Nerja school were Thiago Yeo, champion in the male prebenjamin category; Brayan Quiñones, champion in the male benjamin category; Víctor Cabezas, second in benjamin; Mara Fernández, second in female infantil, and Helena Carretero, champion in female cadet.
The councillor for Sports in Nerja, Daniel Rivas, congratulated all the swimmers for their effort and commitment throughout the season, as well as their families and the coach for the work done over the year.
The celebration of this final in Nerja reinforces the municipality's role as a host of major sporting events and consolidates it as a benchmark for organisation and sport within provincial swimming, according to municipal sources.
The event, which took place in the municipal pool, concludes a year in which the local school has combined grassroots training with high-level competition, setting a high standard for the next season.
