The Ronda City Council and the Neighbourhood Association have launched the programming for the Real Feria of the San Francisco neighbourhood. The attractions have been moved to the side of Ruedo Alameda and to San Acacio street due to the construction work.
The Real Feria of the San Francisco neighbourhood in Ronda has begun its programming with the first tournaments held last Sunday. The event is organised by the Ronda City Council in collaboration with the Neighbourhood Association and the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial.
The municipal delegate for Festivals, Rebeca Muñoz, has highlighted as a new feature for this edition that, due to the works at Ruedo Alameda, the attractions will be located on the side of this space and on San Acacio street.
“The attractions will be located on the side of Ruedo Alameda and on San Acacio street due to the construction work,” explained Rebeca Muñoz.
Additionally, there will be noise-free fair slots from 20:00 to 21:00 on Friday, October 2, and Sunday, October 4, to enhance the experience for children with ASD. Sunday, October 4, will also be Children's Day.
The programming continues this Wednesday with a tribute dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, led by Fray Salva de Ronda, at 20:00 in the Franciscan convent, as part of the events for the 800th anniversary of the saint's passing. A triduum will be held from October 1 to 3.
On Friday, the lighting will take place, the inauguration of the booth managed by the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial with affordable prices, and the selection of the queens and mister of the fair. On Saturday, the traditional free rice will be served in the atrium, along with various performances, trophy presentations, and recognition of the distinguished person from the neighbourhood.
Sunday will be especially dedicated to the elderly, with a meal organised by the City Council, performances, and children's activities. At 17:00, there will be a children's party with the clown Catapum and, at 18:30, a mass at the church of the Holy Spirit, followed by the procession of Saint Francis of Assisi through the neighbourhood streets.
Rebeca Muñoz has emphasised the collaboration of the Neighbourhood Association and the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial, whose involvement is essential to make this celebration possible and to keep the neighbourhood traditions alive.
