The Health and Sports departments of Manilva are considering subsidising or exempting gym fees and rehabilitation activities for people with chronic or degenerative illnesses. The proposal will be presented at the extraordinary council meeting in October.

The Health and Sports departments of the Manilva council are working on a proposal to subsidise and even exempt payment for individuals who, on medical advice, need to exercise daily. This was conveyed by the councillors of both areas, Juan Carlos Morejón and Rogelio Pascual, in a meeting with municipal technicians.

The aim is for beneficiaries to use the municipal gym and the rehabilitation activities included in the sports programmes starting this October. The measure targets individuals with chronic or degenerative illnesses, among others.

The intention of Health and Sports is to finalise the proposal and present it at the upcoming extraordinary council meeting scheduled for this October.

The Health and Sports departments are exploring the possibility of offering subsidies and even exemptions for those who, on medical advice, need to exercise daily.

The text is not yet finalised: municipal technicians and councillors are outlining the requirements and amounts before the initiative goes to the council. If approved, residents of Manilva with medical prescriptions could access the gym and rehabilitation activities at a discount or at no cost.
