The Town Hall of Torremolinos opens the 2026-2027 sports season with 7,410 places in 37 modalities and 412 classes, which is 10% more than the previous year. Occupancy already stands at 94.54%.

The new sports season in Torremolinos kicks off tomorrow, September 1, with an offer of 7,410 places in 37 modalities and 412 classes, representing a 10% increase compared to the last season. This was presented today by the mayor, Margarita del Cid, and the Sports Councillor, Ramón Alcaide, at the entrance of the Virgen del Carmen I and II swimming complex.

The mayor highlighted that occupancy already reaches 94.54%, with over 7,000 registrations recorded. "These figures demonstrate two very relevant aspects: the degree of user loyalty and the quality of the offer," she noted. Del Cid emphasized the daily efforts to maintain "very high quality standards" and announced improvements to the facilities, such as the parquet flooring that will soon be installed in the San Francisco de Asís pavilion, the construction of a Pump Track circuit next to the Javier Imbroda pavilion, permanent orienteering circuits, functional circuits, and calisthenics areas.

The Sports Councillor praised the work of the 21 local clubs that use the municipal facilities and mobilize nearly 2,800 additional users. "We are not only talking about those registered in our programs; we are also talking about the children and young people from the clubs, the federated athletes, and their families," Alcaide stated.

Among the offered modalities are swimming (adults, children, babies, adapted, youth, and seniors), aquafitness, aquaseniors, pilates, physiopilates, paddle, tennis, judo, karate, basketball, futsal, skating, rhythmic gymnastics, functional training, and urban dance, among others. As a new feature, starting in October, sports initiation in pickleball will be introduced, a racket sport adaptable to different ages and levels, which will be taught in the Javier Imbroda pavilion.

Activities for free use also start with high demand: 2,392 places, of which 364 are for self-directed sports, 1,463 for gym use, and 565 for free swimming. Registrations and payments can be made through the website www.deportes.torremolinos.es or in the app Torremolinos Despega, in the Sports and Online Services section.
