Mayor Margarita del Cid inaugurated the renovated Plaza Nogalera with a fashion show that gathered hundreds of people. Seven local and one international brand participated in the event organized by the Town Hall.
The 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' catwalk became the epicentre of fashion in Torremolinos on the afternoon of July 23. The event, organized by the Commerce department led by Isabel Vargas, filled the seats of the renovated Plaza Nogalera and attracted numerous locals and visitors who gathered to watch the show.
Mayor Margarita del Cid was responsible for kicking off this cultural initiative, which is part of a series of activities aimed at revitalising the city centre. The mayor highlighted the importance of supporting local commerce and reclaiming public spaces for events of this kind.
Málaga businessman Manuel Beltrán took on the artistic direction of the show, which featured nearly thirty models from his agency. Seven local fashion brands showcased their proposals: Modas Ramos, Ma Vie Modas, Base: Santa Gema, De Flamenca, Arpe Calzados, Viva & Co, and closing the event, the international brand Sonia Peña, which returned to the catwalk after several years of absence.
Commerce councillor Isabel Vargas emphasised that the initiative aims to demonstrate that traditional commerce and personalised service remain a guarantee of quality. "There is no need to turn to online pages or large stores to find quality fashion; in Torremolinos, there is fashion," she stated during the event.
The show also featured the collaboration of several local hair and makeup salons, such as Marta Muñoz, Maika Campoy, María Peluquería, Núria Jiménez, and Qué Bárbaro, who took care of the models' appearance. Presenter Carolina López hosted the gala and welcomed the attendees.
Among the participants, the presence of Alba Torres, Miss Europe Continental Spain 2026, and Alejandra Mérida, Queen of the Málaga Fair, stood out as they walked the catwalk. Personalities such as actress and content creator Fina Mayo, and Rodrigo Bocanegra, president of the Historical Centre of Málaga, also attended.
The mayor concluded the event by thanking all participants with a bouquet of flowers and a commemorative gift. The event has had a significant impact throughout the province of Málaga, consolidating Torremolinos as a reference for local fashion.
The renovated Plaza Nogalera, which recently underwent refurbishment, served as the perfect backdrop for this fashion event. The Town Hall plans to repeat similar initiatives in the future to continue promoting local commerce and cultural activities in the municipality.
