The San Pedro Alcántara Book Fair starts tomorrow with twelve days of activities, stalls and presentations. The opening speech will be given by Pedro Villarejo, rector of the Church of Santo Ángel Custodio.

The San Pedro Alcántara Book Fair returns once again with a programme that will run from tomorrow until 12th July. The stalls will be located on Marqués del Duero street, at the intersection with Jerez street, and will open from 10:30 to 13:30 and from 19:00 to 22:00. This edition features four exhibitors: Librería Delta, Librería Low Cost, Ediciones Algorfa and Ediciones Bukmeran, who will offer a wide selection of publications and new releases.

The inaugural event will take place tomorrow at 20:30 with the opening speech by Pedro Villarejo, rector of the Church of Santo Ángel Custodio in Nueva Andalucía. Villarejo is recognised as one of the leading Spanish specialists in mystical poetry and has published nearly thirty books. His speech will kick off an agenda that combines workshops, literary presentations and activities for all ages.

On Friday 3rd July, at 20:00, a craft workshop will be held, led by Fernanda G. Carregedo from Shapó Olé Gallery. The activity is aimed at children aged 6 to 12, who will be able to create an artistic book for free. The capacity is limited to twenty places, which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The cycle of literary presentations will begin on Tuesday 7th July at 20:30 with ‘The 33 Steps Back to Your Essence’ by Elisabet Carmona Molina. The work proposes a journey of self-discovery through thirty-three stages to overcome blockages and heal past experiences. The following day, at the same time, local doctor and writer Juan Macías will present his novel ‘White Strawberries’, which tells the story of Fernanda Noriega, a Literature teacher, and reflects on love, truth and personal decisions.

The programme will conclude on Thursday 9th July, also at 20:30, with the presentation of ‘The Exiled’, the new poetry collection by local author Domingo César Ayala. The work, structured in a preamble, five cantos and an epilogue, addresses uprooting and emotional exile. The fair thus consolidates itself as a meeting point for book lovers on the Costa del Sol, with an offer that seeks to promote direct contact between authors, publishers and the public.

For more information, interested parties can visit the stalls during morning and afternoon hours, or check the social media of the San Pedro Alcántara Town Hall.
