The Spanish Association Against Cancer in Marbella and the real estate company Tu Primer Hogar have signed an agreement to sponsor the Gala Dinner (1 August) and the Golf Tournament (31 July) for three years.

The Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Marbella has sealed a strategic alliance with the company Tu Primer Hogar that guarantees the celebration of two major charity events for at least three years. The agreement, signed this week, ensures the main sponsorship of the 41st Gala Dinner Against Cancer and the Golf Tournament Against Cancer, two key dates for fundraising on the Costa del Sol.

An alliance that guarantees stability for cancer patients

The collaboration, as explained by the president of the AECC in Marbella, Santiago Gómez-Villares, will allow for the maintenance and expansion of the free services that the entity offers to patients and families. "We understand that behind every diagnosis, there is a person and a family that need support, companionship, and answers," he stated. In the last year, the association assisted 647 people and conducted 2,318 support sessions in Marbella and surrounding municipalities.

For his part, Francisco Gómez Palma, president-CEO of Tu Primer Hogar, highlighted that "a company cannot turn a blind eye to the real needs of its environment." The real estate agency, based in Marbella, takes on the main sponsorship of both events continuously, which represents a significant financial backing for the association. "We believe that a one-off contribution is not enough," he added.

Cancer patient Amalia Acero valued the importance of these links: "Cancer can affect anyone. When companies, entities, and citizens come together, they contribute to building a more humane society." The AECC Marbella offers psychological care, social support, and residential flats in Málaga for displaced patients, services that are partially funded by these events.

Two charity events in Marbella's summer calendar

The Gala Dinner Against Cancer, now in its 41st edition, will take place on 1 August 2026 at the Finca de La Concepción in Marbella. The event will include a welcome cocktail, charity dinner, musical performances by Efecto Mariposa and The Vintage Experience, and a charity auction. Additionally, the "The Fighter" award will be presented to the politician and national deputy Borja Sémper, recognized for his work in normalizing cancer. Registrations can be made by calling 952 776 800 from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.

The Golf Tournament Against Cancer will be held a day earlier, on 31 July 2026, at the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, also in Marbella. The competition, which combines sport and solidarity, will feature prizes, raffles, and activities for participants. Both events are part of the AECC's strategy to raise funds for research, which received over €810,000 at the provincial level last year.

Gómez Palma encouraged other companies to join similar initiatives: "They should not see it as an obligation or a branding strategy, but as an investment. In the end, when one contributes, they receive immensely more than what they give." For attendees, the dinner and tournament represent an opportunity to enjoy a special evening while supporting a just cause.

The AECC Marbella serves patients from all over the Western Costa del Sol, including municipalities such as Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmádena, and Estepona. The proceeds from these events will help maintain support programs and financial aid for families in need. On the upcoming 1 August, the Finca de La Concepción will once again be the epicentre of Marbella's solidarity.
