The Town Hall of Marbella and Bancosol have signed a new agreement that guarantees food assistance to 1,450 residents and strengthens employment insertion programmes for people at risk of exclusion.
The mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, and the president of Bancosol, Diego Vázquez, have signed a new collaboration agreement that ensures the continuity of two key lines of action: the distribution of food through social entities in the municipality and labour inclusion programmes for users at risk of exclusion, as reported by Diario Sur.
During the last year, 1,450 residents directly benefited from food assistance, with over 68,000 kilos of food distributed. The mayor highlighted the "great work" that the group does in favour of the most vulnerable people in the municipality.
The councillor for Social Rights, Isabel Cintado, explained that the aim of the agreement "is to assist the immediate needs of families, but also to offer tools for people to move towards greater autonomy." In the social-labour inclusion programme, 158 users participated and 59 managed to secure a job.
“The aim of the project is to go beyond food assistance to promote the autonomy of individuals,” noted Vázquez, who thanked the Town Hall for its collaboration.
The president of Bancosol announced that in the first six months of 2026, 38 job placements have already been recorded in Marbella. Additionally, awareness-raising actions on responsible consumption and waste prevention have reached 1,500 students through talks and workshops.
The agreement, which is renewed following the results of the last year, maintains the collaboration between both entities to support families and offer pathways to autonomy.
