The mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, and the president of Bancosol, Diego Vázquez, have signed an agreement to strengthen food assistance and job placement for people at risk of exclusion. The agreement benefits 1,450 locals who received 68,000 kilos of food in the last year.
The Town Hall of Marbella and the Food Bank of Solidarity (Bancosol) have renewed their collaboration with a new agreement that expands support for vulnerable families in the municipality. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, and the president of the entity, Diego Vázquez, signed the agreement, which includes two main lines: food distribution and employment inclusion programs.
In the food sector, 1,450 locals directly benefited from Bancosol's actions during the last year, in which over 68,000 kilos of perishable and non-perishable products were distributed through social entities in the municipality. Muñoz highlighted the “great work” of the collective in favour of the most vulnerable individuals.
The councillor for Social Rights, Isabel Cintado, explained that the aim of the agreement “is to assist the immediate needs of families, but also to provide tools for individuals to move towards greater autonomy.” In the social and labour inclusion program, 158 users participated, and 59 secured a job.
The aim of the project “is to go beyond food assistance to promote the autonomy of individuals,” noted Diego Vázquez.
Vázquez thanked the collaboration of the Town Hall and emphasised that during the first six months of 2026, 38 job placements have already been recorded in Marbella. Additionally, awareness actions on responsible consumption and waste prevention reached 1,500 students through talks and workshops. The agreement thus strengthens the support network for families in the municipality, combining immediate assistance with training for autonomy.
