Marbella's Local Police has issued 357 reports for street cleaning and waste violations between January and June 2026. The failure to comply with waste disposal hours, with 270 reports, remains the most common offence.
The spokesperson for the Local Police, Miguel Ángel Benítez, detailed this Tuesday that the force has processed 357 reports of infringement related to street cleaning and waste management between January and June 2026. Of these, 270 correspond to disposing of waste outside the established hours, 25 to disposing of it in unauthorised places, and 10 to the manipulation of containers. The remaining 52 fall under other infringements outlined in Law 7/2022 on waste.
Areas with the highest incidence in Marbella and San Pedro
Benítez pointed out that the areas where these behaviours are most repeated in Marbella are Antonio Belón, Puerto Deportivo, El Faro, the streets Virgen del Pilar, Los Naranjos and Benalmádena, as well as Avenida Europa, Avenida Camilo José Cela, and the La Ermita industrial estate. In San Pedro Alcántara, notable areas include Avenida Oriental, Avenida Lope de Mena, Calle Pepe Osorio, Avenida Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Plaza Mariano Díaz Alonso, Avenida Julio Iglesias, and the industrial estate.
The spokesperson highlighted that, despite the figures, “there is a noticeable increase in citizen awareness and a decrease in such behaviours” thanks to monitoring efforts and greater knowledge of the regulations by residents and businesses. In 2025, 839 reports were processed throughout the year, averaging nearly 70 per month, compared to 59.5 this semester.
Hours and rules for waste disposal
The municipal ordinance establishes that household waste must be disposed of between 20:00 and 23:00 from April to October, and between 19:00 and 23:00 for the rest of the year. Glass cannot be left between 22:00 and 08:00, while selectively collected waste can be disposed of without time restrictions as long as it does not cause inconvenience. For the removal of furniture and items, it is necessary to call phone 952 768 720 before leaving them next to the containers.
The city has a network of clean points located in Las Chapas, Marbella East, Marbella West, Nueva Andalucía, and San Pedro Alcántara, with locations available on the municipal website. Additionally, the municipal waste depot on Calle Carbón in the La Ermita industrial estate accepts electronic devices, paints, lighting, batteries, debris from small works, and other special waste.
Benítez reminded that all agents, in their role as administrative police, especially the Administrative Unit, conduct inspections to ensure compliance with the regulations. Citizen collaboration and respect for the hours are key to keeping the city clean and avoiding fines that, according to the ordinance, can reach 750 euros in the most serious cases.
