The Marbella City Council supports the XIII Charity Golf Tournament of the Ronald McDonald House, which will be held on August 8 at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. All proceeds will go directly to the foundation that provides accommodation for families with children undergoing medical treatment.

On August 8, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina in Marbella will host the thirteenth edition of the Charity Golf Tournament organised by the Ronald McDonald House. The event, which has the backing of the Marbella City Council, will allocate all its proceeds to the foundation's work, which provides accommodation and support to families with children admitted to hospitals.

The councillors for Sports, Lisandro Vieytes, and Social Rights, Isabel Cintado, participated in the tournament's presentation. Vieytes highlighted that "Marbella is a very sporting and altruistic city, which gets involved with this type of event," and thanked the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina for its commitment to hosting this initiative once again. The councillor emphasised that the tournament will allow participants to enjoy one of the best golf courses in the municipality while contributing to a cause of significant social impact.

For her part, Cintado praised the work carried out by the organisation with families going through particularly difficult times. "The Ronald McDonald House offers a home away from home, but also support, care, and the warmth of a helping hand when it is needed most," she stated. The councillor expressed gratitude for the involvement of players, sponsors, collaborators, and volunteers, convinced that "Marbella will once again demonstrate on August 8 that it is a benchmark in solidarity."

The manager of the Ronald McDonald House Málaga, Belén Collantes, thanked the City Council for its support, "especially important because we are increasingly welcoming more families from the Costa del Sol." She detailed that the competition will be played in individual Stableford format with two tee times, at 08:30 and 16:00. The registration fee will be 100 euros for visitors and 15 euros for members, which includes a welcome pack, refreshments, and a cocktail. Additionally, during the day, there will be charity raffles and a zero row for those who wish to contribute without participating in the tournament.

Collantes reminded that the tournament is the foundation's main annual charity event and that the full cost of the registrations will go towards maintaining the Ronald McDonald House, which incurs an annual cost of around 450,000 euros. She also highlighted the collaboration of numerous sponsoring companies and entities.

During the presentation, the director of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, Ignacio del Cuvillo, spoke, as did Damián Fernández, father of Nico Corazón Fuerte, who shared his personal experience and the support received from the organisation during his son's treatment. His testimony highlighted the importance of having accommodation close to the hospital so that families can stay together during the most complex medical processes, emphasising that the Ronald McDonald House became for them "a home and a second family" during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

The tournament, now in its thirteenth edition, has established itself as an unmissable event in Marbella's sporting and charitable calendar. The foundation, which has a house in Málaga city, assists dozens of families from the Costa del Sol and other provinces each year. The Marbella City Council has reiterated its commitment to continue closely collaborating with the organisation to ensure its work.

Those interested in participating can register through the channels set up by the organisation. The tournament takes place at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, one of the most emblematic courses in the province, located in the Guadalmina area of Marbella. The day will also include parallel activities for attendees.
