The works on the sports complex in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, are already over 50% complete. The project, with a budget of 15 million euros, includes a football pitch, an athletics track, and a future Olympic swimming pool.

The mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, has confirmed that the future sports complex in Nueva Andalucía is over 50% complete. She made this announcement during a visit to the construction site, accompanied by the councillors for Works, Sports, and District, Diego López, Lisandro Vieytes, and Vanessa Ortiz de Zárate, as reported by Diario Sur.

The project has a total budget of 15 million euros and is being developed over an area of more than 30,000 square meters. The mayor emphasized that this is "a large-scale project, the most extensive we are developing in terms of land size."

"This facility will be one of the most important in the municipality and will meet a long-standing demand from clubs and athletes in our city"

The first phase includes an 11-a-side artificial turf football pitch and a certified 400-meter athletics track with eight lanes, along with seating for 1,000 spectators. The municipal goal is for both facilities to be completed by the end of this year.

The complex also includes an adjoining building of 6,000 square meters with administrative offices, spaces for clubs and referees, and support services for the pitch and track. In a second phase, an Olympic swimming pool will be added, "another highly demanded infrastructure in Marbella that will significantly enhance the city's sports offerings," Muñoz noted.

The mayor also thanked the Works delegation for ensuring that the construction companies meet deadlines and the Sports area for presenting the project to clubs to understand their needs.
