Six municipalities in the province of Málaga are among the top 30 favourite destinations for Spaniards for summer holidays, according to a study by the platform Holidu. Málaga capital leads the representation from Málaga in sixth place, while Marbella ranks as the most expensive option.
The vacation rental platform Holidu has published its ranking of preferred destinations for Spaniards for the summer holidays of 2026, and the Costa del Sol once again demonstrates its appeal. Six municipalities from Málaga appear among the 30 most sought-after for stays between 4 July and 30 August, with nightly prices ranging from 211 to 345 euros.
Málaga capital ranks sixth in the national ranking, with an average price of 225 euros per night. The city, which combines beach, culture, and gastronomy, consolidates its position as one of the most attractive urban destinations in the country and a gateway to the entire Costa del Sol.
Following closely is Nerja, in eleventh place, with a rate of 211 euros per night, the most economical in the province on the list. The town in Axarquía maintains its reputation as a coastal paradise thanks to beaches like Burriana and the Balcón de Europa, attracting those seeking a quieter environment without giving up the sea.
Marbella appears in 21st place and is positioned as the most expensive destination in the province, with an average expenditure of 345 euros per night. The city, known for its luxury and exclusivity, remains a benchmark for high-income tourism.
In 22nd and 23rd places are Torremolinos and Fuengirola, with prices of 230 and 251 euros per night, respectively. Both municipalities, classic sun and beach destinations, maintain their appeal summer after summer, offering a wide range of leisure and dining options.
Nationally, Conil de la Frontera and Cádiz capital top the table, with prices of 212 and 231 euros per night. At the opposite end, the most economical destinations are found inland in Andalucía, such as Úbeda, where the night costs 92 euros. The Balearic Islands drive prices up with Sant Lluís (Menorca) at the forefront, at 604 euros per night.
For residents of Málaga looking for accommodation in their own province, the price range reveals that demand continues to rise, especially in the capital and along the Costa del Sol. The varied offer, from the city to coastal towns, allows for adaptation to different budgets, although none fall below 200 euros per night during the analysed period.
The Holidu study, which analyses searches by Spanish users, confirms that the province of Málaga remains a national tourist magnet. The combination of beach, culture, gastronomy, and climate attracts travellers from all over Spain, who book months in advance to secure their place in these highly sought-after destinations.
