The Manilva Town Hall has held a new meeting of the working group of the Municipal Monitoring Plan to coordinate measures against the Nile virus, including treatment in the Tubalitas stream.

The Manilva Town Hall is maintaining its surveillance system against the Nile virus. In a new meeting of the working group of the Municipal Monitoring Plan, held this week, the ongoing actions were reviewed and treatment in the Tubalitas stream was confirmed to curb the proliferation of mosquitoes.

Attending the meeting were the Health Councillor, Juan Carlos Morejón, the area director, Carlos González, representatives from Hidralia, municipal technicians, and a representative from the concessionaire company SSA Consultores, who participated remotely. The aim was to monitor the measures outlined in the plan, which has been in development for several months.

Among the actions being carried out are mosquito sampling and trapping work, executed by the responsible company, as well as enhanced communication to the public. Informative posters have already been placed at various points in the locality to warn about how to prevent bites.

The treatment in the Tubalitas stream aims to reduce breeding sites for the insect, a key measure to minimise the risk of virus transmission. With these actions, the council keeps its surveillance and prevention system active, reinforcing measures to control the presence of mosquitoes.

The Town Hall reminds residents of the importance of avoiding stagnant water and using repellents, especially during peak mosquito activity hours, at dawn and dusk.
