The most rooted community event in Fuengirola returns to Suomi square from August 27 to 29 with music, tributes, and activities for all ages.
The Verbena de Los Pacos is turning 30 years old and will celebrate in style at the Suomi square in Fuengirola from August 27 to 29, with a programme that combines tradition, music, and plans for the whole family. The event, organised by the Los Pacos Neighbourhood Association in collaboration with the Fuengirola City Council, was presented this Friday by the councillor for Festivals, Isabel Moreno; the councillor responsible for the neighbourhood, Rosa Ana Bravo; and the community representatives Pascual Sánchez (president) and Alicia Martínez (secretary).
The neighbourhood councillor highlighted the significance of this anniversary:
“We are facing a very special edition because we are celebrating 30 years of a verbena that is part of the history and traditions of Los Pacos. It has been three decades of coexistence, of meetings among neighbours, and of keeping our customs alive.”Bravo also emphasised that the festival is an example of how community networks contribute to building neighbourhoods and strengthening ties among residents.
The programme will kick off on Thursday, August 27 at 19:00 with a parade by La Charanga Lanz through various streets of the neighbourhood, arriving at Suomi square. At 21:00, the official inauguration will take place along with the presentation of the new Board of Directors of the association. The first night will continue with performances by the Juan Guerrero Dance Academy, El Niño de Peñaflor, Maribel La Caletera, and the group Una de dos.
Friday, August 28 will be dedicated to the residents and the history of the association. At 21:00, a tribute organised by the association itself will take place, followed by performances from the Coro Santiago and the dance group of the entity. The night will continue with Araceli González and La Gramola.
Saturday, August 29 will be the main day. At 13:30, the Panda de Verdiales Raíces de los Moras will perform, and at 14:00, a free traditional paella will be served for all the neighbourhood residents. In the afternoon, from 19:30, the little ones will have their party with the group Chiquilindungui and the musical El Capitán Espárrago. The closing will feature performances from the association's gymnastics group, HGZ and Adri O, the dance group Chassé, comedian Diego Arjona, and, as a musical finale, Sueño Marismeño.
The community president, Pascual Sánchez, encouraged participation in this very special edition:
“Turning 30 is a huge source of pride for our association. We want this verbena to be a celebration for everyone, for families to enjoy, for the elderly to remember good times, and for new generations to continue embracing this tradition.”Meanwhile, secretary Alicia Martínez thanked the City Council for its collaboration and, above all, the residents who have helped grow this event over the past three decades.
Under the slogan “Tradition that is felt!”, the Verbena de Los Pacos 2026 will run each day until 01:30, with free entry and activities designed for all audiences.
