The Juan Gómez 'Juanito' pavilion will host the Fuengirola Women's Basketball Cup on September 13, featuring the Supercopa Diputación between CB Salliver and CAB Estepona, and a friendly match in the Endesa League between Impulso 360 Estepona and Hozono Global Jairis.

The Juan Gómez 'Juanito' pavilion in Fuengirola will host the Fuengirola Women's Basketball Cup next Sunday, September 13, a day that will bring together teams from the highest category of national women's basketball. The event, organised by the Andalusian Basketball Federation, the Club Baloncesto Salliver, and the Fuengirola City Council, is part of the 'Fuengirola en Forma' programme.

The Sports Councillor, Julio Rodríguez, presented the event on Friday, accompanied by players María García (CB Salliver) and Marta Ortega (CAB Estepona). Rodríguez highlighted that Fuengirola "breathes basketball" and that the city continues to add high-level events, such as the 3x3 tournament that will take place this Sunday in Plaza Pedro Cuevas with over 40 teams registered.

"It is very special for us to include high-level events within the 'Fuengirola en Forma' programme," the councillor stated.

The day will start at 10:30 AM with the Provincial Supercopa, which will see CB Salliver face CAB Estepona, both from the National League. At 1:00 PM, the main event will take place: a friendly match between Impulso 360 Estepona and Hozono Global Jairis from Alcantarilla (Murcia), two teams from the women's Endesa League.

María García thanked the City Council for the opportunity to promote women's basketball and encouraged fans to attend the pavilion. "I hope many people come to cheer us on and that more and more girls from Fuengirola have the chance to enjoy this sport," she said. Marta Ortega, who played for CB Salliver, expressed her "pride" in returning to her hometown to play in the Juanito pavilion.

Entry to the pavilion is free until capacity is reached, according to the City Council.
