Alejandro Sanz has put the finishing touch to his summer tour in Spain with a massive concert in Fuengirola. The artist, who performed at Marenostrum Fuengirola in front of a sold-out venue, delivered a two-hour show in which he revisited his greatest hits and showcased his more intimate and spontaneous side.
The singer took to the stage shortly after 10:00 PM, welcomed by the applause of an audience eagerly awaiting his return to the same stage after four years. With his characteristic raspy voice and a knowing smile, Sanz kicked off the night with 'Desde cuándo', a clear nod to the title of his 2026 tour.
“Good evening, Fuengirola. And now what?” he said at the start, unleashing euphoria among the attendees who packed the esplanade at the foot of Castillo Sohail. During the evening, the performer mixed songs from his latest album, such as 'Las guapas' or 'Bésame' (a duet with Shakira), with classics that catapulted him to fame, like 'Quisiera ser' or 'Amiga mía'.
The 61st concert of the tour had a particularly emotional tone, as it marked the end of the tour in Spanish territory. “This is the last concert of this tour in Spain, any complaints come too late,” joked Sanz, visibly relaxed and grateful for the affection received.
“When I was a kid, I dreamed of singing and composing, and I never thought I would be here today. Today my soul is celebrating a birthday,” confessed the artist, who did not hesitate to dedicate words of support to those suffering from war conflicts and natural disasters. Specifically, he referred to the wildfires affecting Spain and the earthquake in Venezuela, showing his solidarity with the victims.
The night also included a tribute to his friend, journalist Jesús Quintero, from whom he quoted a phrase: “A song cannot stop a tank, but it can break the heart of the warrior driving it.” Music, Sanz said, “has the power to bring us together and make us forget about the things life bombards us with.”
The audience sang along to every verse and did not hesitate to dance to the rhythm of the flamenco guitar chords that marked songs like 'Y si fuera ella' or 'No es lo mismo'. There was even time for a marriage proposal, which Sanz celebrated from the stage with his usual charm.
“I don’t want to leave, you’re never ready for goodbyes,” said the singer as the concert neared its end. However, no one moved from their spot until the last chords of 'Corazón partío' rang out, the song that capped off a magical night on the Costa del Sol.
The performance in Fuengirola confirms the artist's appeal, who remains one of the major musical draws of the summer in Málaga. Marenostrum Fuengirola, which has hosted top-level artists in its summer programme, once again demonstrated its capacity to attract major figures from international music.
