He has been a direct collaborator for four years with the Nobel Prize winner in Medicine Rita Levi Montalcini, and has coordinated pediatric projects in 18 countries worldwide. Additionally, he has participated in humanitarian missions such as the Rotary Foundation's Polio 0 Project in Uttar Pradesh (India) and in relief efforts following the earthquakes in Manila (Philippines) in 1990 and Kenya (Africa) in 1992.
Recently, the European Academy of Paediatrics awarded him the title of Best Pediatric Specialist 2025-2026, a recognition of his career and dedication. He has also been honoured with the University Honor Medal.
