The Estepona City Council has opened the call for the VII Estepona Young Designers Competition. Interested parties can submit their collections until August 31. Eight finalists will showcase their designs on September 26 at the Botanical Orchid Park.
The competition, which is part of the X Estepona Fashion Week, aims to support emerging talents in fashion design in Spain. Participants must be between 18 and 35 years old and prove birth, residence, or studies in the country.
The rules, published on the municipal notice board, state that each designer will present a collection of six models in any style from the industry. Team proposals are not accepted; participation is individual.
Awards and Finalist Selection
A professional jury will select eight finalists, who will showcase their work in a fashion show on September 26 at the Botanical Orchid Park. On that day, originality, quality, creativity, and innovation of the proposals, as well as the staging, will be evaluated.
The winner will receive 1,000 euros and a trophy, the second place will get 500 euros and a trophy, and the third place will receive 300 euros and a trophy. Additionally, the City Council will award five special mentions of 200 euros each.
“We want to promote young designers and provide them with a platform to showcase their work,” municipal sources state.
How to Register
Registration must be done through the Estepona City Council's electronic headquarters at estepona.sedelectronica.es. The deadline is August 31, 2026.
Interested parties must attach the required documentation listed in Annex I of the rules, available on the digital notice board of the council.

Last year, the competition received over 40 applications from across Spain, and the finalists made contacts with industry firms. The 2026 edition promises to exceed that number.
The final show will take place on September 26, as part of the X Fashion Week program, which will be held from September 23 to 26. Activities will include exhibitions, workshops, and meetings with established designers.
Organizers remind that the designs submitted must be original and not have been awarded in other competitions. Each participant may only register one collection.
