Casares celebrates this Saturday the Day of the Patroness, the Virgin of the Rosary del Campo, and from September 11 to 13 will host the Christ Fair, which will conclude the summer festival calendar.
The Málaga municipality of Casares celebrates this Saturday, September 5, the Day of the Patroness, the Virgin of the Rosary del Campo, one of the most deeply rooted events in the local calendar. The activities will begin at dawn with the traditional Rosario de la Aurora, followed by a flamenco mass sung by the Brotherhood Choir. At noon, the traditional communal meal among neighbours is scheduled.
In the evening, the procession of the Virgin of the Rosary will traverse the streets of the old town, and the day will conclude with a popular fiesta enlivened by the Orquesta Cat For Ever. During the previous week, a triduum has been celebrated in honour of the Patroness.
The final touch to summer will come next weekend, from September 11 to 13, with the Christ Fair. The Plaza de Casares will host performances by the orchestras D'Vértigo and Latidos, while the promenade of La Carrera will turn into a children's amusement park.
The Young Zone, in El Llano, will have its own space: on Friday, the themed party Bendito Lío will take place, featuring challenges and surprises, and on Saturday Samueliyo Baby, the urban artist of the moment, will perform. The most anticipated moment will be the procession of the Holy Christ, on Saturday, September 12 at 21:30 hours.
The complete programme for the Christ Fair is available on the Casares Town Hall website.
