Benalmádena recorded the highest hotel occupancy in the province of Málaga in August, at 96.2%, according to data from the AEHCOS business association. The municipality surpasses Torremolinos and Mijas.
Benalmádena closed August as the destination with the highest hotel occupancy in the province of Málaga, with 96.2%, according to data provided by the Association of Hotel Entrepreneurs of the Costa del Sol (AEHCOS).
This figure places the municipality ahead of Torremolinos (95.5%) and Mijas (94.4%). The average occupancy across the province was 92.85%.
The mayor, Juan Antonio Lara, regarded the results as a boost to continue working on promoting the destination. "These figures confirm that the city remains one of the preferred destinations for those visiting the Costa del Sol," he stated.
"Benalmádena has much to offer throughout the year, and these results encourage us to keep working on promoting our municipality, improving our public spaces and services, and maintaining ongoing collaboration with the sector," the mayor added.
The Councillor for Tourism, Presi Aguilera, highlighted that the positive figures occur in a context of high international demand and emphasized the promotional work at fairs such as FITUR, the WTM in London, and the ITB in Berlin. She also thanked the efforts of entrepreneurs and workers in the sector.
The City Council is promoting a 360º tourism strategy that includes the renovation of the Castillo El Bil-Bil with an immersive tourist office, the development of the Senda Litoral and new viewpoints, and a destination management system to analyze visitor behavior.
