Casares celebrates the festivities in honour of its patroness, the Virgin of the Rosary, starting this Tuesday with the traditional transfer of the image and a programme that culminates on Saturday with a procession and fair.
The Festivities in Honour of the Virgin of the Rosary, patroness of Casares, begin this Tuesday, 1st September, with the traditional transfer of the image from the chapel in the Plaza to the Convent, where the main religious events will take place.
The day will start with a mass at the chapel in the Plaza. At 20:30 hours, the transfer of the Virgin of the Rosary from the Field to the Convent is scheduled.
From tomorrow, Wednesday, until Friday, the Triduum to the Virgin of the Rosary will be celebrated. On the final day, as is tradition, the children born since September of last year will be presented to the Virgin.
On Saturday, 5th September, Patron's Day, the day will begin at dawn with the Rosary of the Dawn. At 12:00 hours, there will be a flamenco mass sung by the Brotherhood Choir, followed by a communal meal.
In the evening, at 21:00 hours, there will be a mass leading to the procession of the Virgin of the Rosary through the streets of Casares. It will conclude in the Plaza de España, where the proclamation of the festivities will be read by Isabel María Rodríguez Jiménez.
The day will end with a popular fair featuring the performance of the Orquesta Cat For Ever.
