The National Police and the German BKA arrest a fugitive in Málaga with five years of being wanted, an expert in cybersecurity and martial arts.
The National Police, in collaboration with the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) of Germany, has arrested in Málaga the most wanted drug trafficker by German authorities, as reported by Diario Sur. He was subject to a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) for drug trafficking and criminal organisation, as well as a request from Spanish justice.
The fugitive, who had been on the run for five years, was intercepted on 24 August while travelling as a passenger in his brother's car. The agents, who had located the brother after surrounding the suspect's environment, confirmed that the fugitive was in the passenger seat and proceeded to make the immediate arrest. After being placed at the disposal of the National Court, the judge ordered his imprisonment.
The lead on his whereabouts was activated in 2025, when investigators located the suspect in Spain. The criminal network he allegedly led had already established a warehouse on national territory, from where they loaded the drugs onto trucks crossing the border through France destined for the German market.
Capturing the fugitive was not easy. The arrested individual changed his phone number every two weeks and renewed his false identity every three months. Additionally, he had specialised training in cybersecurity obtained in Turkey, where he acquired advanced knowledge to avoid tracking of his devices, operating systems, and social networks. He was also skilled in boxing and mixed martial arts.
The operation culminated in Málaga after several surveillance and follow-ups that extended across several Spanish provinces.
