La Tapería de Benalmádena and Alros Investments take first prize in the categories of establishments and shop windows, respectively, in a contest that has distributed €1,000.
The Benalmádena Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs (ACEB) has announced the winners of its decoration contests, organised for the Virgen de la Cruz Fair. La Tapería de Benalmádena, in the establishments category, and Alros Investments, in shop windows, have won first prize in an edition that has distributed €1,000 among all participants.
The award ceremony was held this Thursday in the presence of the Councillor for Commerce, Raúl Campos, and the president of the ACEB, Rosa María González Rubia. The contest also included five special mentions of €50 to recognise the efforts of all those who contributed to filling the fair with colour and joy, as highlighted by González Rubia herself.
In the establishments category, La Tapería de Benalmádena achieved 134 points and a prize of €250. The second place, with €150, went to the florist Bouquet Art-Flor with 121 points, while the third prize, worth €100, went to The Lilac Tree, which scored 119 points and received 5 extra points for exceeding 100 'likes' on Facebook for its photo.
In the shop window category, the real estate agency Alros Investments achieved 131 points and a prize of €250, which its owner, Rosa María González Rubia, has fully donated to finance the special mentions for this edition. The second place went to the store A Sol y Sombra with 114 points and €150, and third place to the herbal shop El Jardín de las Naranjas, with 108 points and €100.
The five special mentions of €50 went to Bar Origen23, Heladería Morango, The Pana's Café & Bar, Panadería Benalmádena and the barbershop Tío Bigote.
The Councillor for Commerce highlighted the visibility that the contest has given to the participating businesses: the photographs of the decorations have been displayed on the ACEB's Facebook page and have recorded 6,874 visits in just five days, a figure that reflects the reach of this initiative to promote local commerce.
