Ronda's mayor, Mari Paz Fernández, and the councillor for Works, Concha Muñoz, have visited the construction of the new road that will connect Harinera, UVA and the Almocábar neighbourhood. The infrastructure, about 350 metres long, has an investment of nearly 600,000 euros and is being carried out by the company Onzaga.
The new road connecting Harinera, UVA and the Almocábar neighbourhood will be open to traffic early next year. This was announced by the Ronda City Council following the mayor's visit, Mari Paz Fernández, and the councillor for Works, Concha Muñoz, to the site, which is currently 30% complete.
The new street, which will run between Cuevas del Becerro and José Díaz Giles roads, will be approximately 350 metres long and will involve an investment of nearly 600,000 euros. The company Onzaga is responsible for executing the project, which has the support of the Diputación de Málaga.
The land where the construction is taking place was practically undeveloped, an urban void that will now be enhanced to meet the demand of homeowners in the area and improve mobility at this point in the city. The works include extending the fencing of the railway lines, which will increase safety.
The new road will be named Nuestro Padre Jesús del Prendimiento, at the request of the brotherhood itself, and will create around 100 free and unrestricted parking spaces. It will also involve improvements to stormwater infrastructure, paving, sidewalks, and lighting.
“It will be a new street that will improve mobility in this area of the city,” the mayor noted during the visit.
The municipal forecast is that the works will be completed and the road will be open to traffic early next year.
