The City Council of Ronda has begun work to double the area of the Fuerte playground, which will increase from 100 to 220 square metres.
The City Council of Ronda has initiated the improvement and expansion of the Fuerte playground, a project that will allow its current area to be doubled. The space will increase from approximately 100 square metres to 220, as confirmed by the Council.
The mayor, Mari Paz Fernández, visited the area on Monday to oversee the start of the work, which has an investment of €58,829. The project is part of the plan promoted by the Department of Parks and Gardens, led by Concha Muñoz, to renew and equip various locations in the city.
The expected execution period is three months, although the City Council estimates that the playground could be ready by the end of September. The mayor highlighted that the project responds to a demand from families in the Fuerte neighbourhood.
“This project responds to a demand from the families of the Fuerte, which we are fulfilling; soon the children of this neighbourhood will be able to enjoy these facilities,” Fernández stated.
The work includes the renovation of the existing playground, which was in a deteriorated state, with repairs to the current play equipment and the installation of continuous rubber safety flooring. Additionally, a new play area will be created that will be added to the area of the upper square.
The intervention also includes the activation of the fountain in the area and the planting of six trees, which will provide shade to the new recreational space.
With this project, the City Council continues its plan to improve playgrounds throughout the city, having already executed several projects in other neighbourhoods. Residents of the Fuerte will be able to enjoy the new facilities starting next autumn.
