The Manolo López Municipal Pool in Ronda is closing its bathing season this Saturday with a positive balance: it has received 33,942 users, a 7% increase compared to the previous season. The mayor, Mari Paz Fernández, presented the data this Wednesday alongside the Sports councillor, Nardi Crespo.
“We are closing this Saturday and we do so with absolute success, as thousands of people have visited this great public pool this summer,” said the mayor, who thanked the Asprodisis Foundation, dedicated to supporting people with intellectual disabilities in Ronda and the Serranía, for their work in managing the bar service throughout the season.
The number of users represents around 2,000 more bathers than last year, once the attendees from this last week are counted. Among the most notable data is the increase in 12-bath passes, which reduce the entry price from 3 to 2.5 euros. “We have tripled the number of passes compared to last season,” Fernández stated.
In 2025, 223 passes were processed, while this season the figure has risen to 675. The weekly average of users has exceeded 2,500 people, with a daily average of around 370. The week with the highest attendance was at the end of June and the beginning of July, with peak attendance concentrated between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM and during weekends.
With the closure this Saturday, the facility will await the next summer campaign, which is expected to start again in June. Residents of Ronda who wish to take advantage of the last days of bathing can do so until then during the usual pool hours.
