The Ronda City Council has opened the application period for hospitality establishments in the centre to request permission to set up street stalls during the Pedro Romero Fair. This edition revives bullfighting events, so a large turnout is expected.
The Ronda City Council published a decree on Wednesday regulating the installation of hospitality stalls on public streets during the Pedro Romero Fair, which will take place from September 2 to 6. Interested establishments can now submit their applications at the Citizen Service Centre (SAC) until August 19 inclusive.
The municipal delegate for Contracting, Jorge Fernández, explained that this edition comes with a notable new feature: the return of bullfighting events after two years of suspension due to restoration works at the Real Maestranza Bullring. This situation, he pointed out, will significantly increase the number of locals and visitors in the centre, especially on Goyesca Saturday.
The occupation of public space will be limited to the daytime fair hours, which this year will be from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. However, to apply, businesses must have the corresponding opening license.
The stalls will be placed in front of each establishment's façade, and the installation of awnings as decorative and sun protection elements will be allowed. Additionally, prices must be displayed to the public in a visible location.
The City Council will once again promote musical ambiance in the area, so it is prohibited for establishments to set up music equipment outside. The traditional decoration of lanterns will also be revived to enhance the daytime fair atmosphere.
Jorge Fernández encouraged central businesses to join this initiative to energise the festival. Applications can be submitted at the City Council's SAC until August 19, and the complete regulations are already available on the municipal notice board.
