The Ronda City Council has completed the renovation of Giner de los Ríos square, in the La Dehesa neighbourhood, with new gardens, furniture, and a children's park.

Giner de los Ríos square, in the La Dehesa district of Ronda, now boasts a completely renewed appearance. The municipal delegate for Works, Concha Muñoz, has announced the completion of the improvement works, which are part of the neighbourhood improvement plan promoted by the City Council. The intervention has transformed this communal space, adapting it to the demands of the residents.

A fountain that becomes a garden

One of the most significant actions has been the renovation of the old central fountain. It has been partially transformed into a garden area, although a small space with water has been maintained to cater to the different preferences of the residents. The square has undergone a thorough cleaning, repainting of its surroundings, and refurbishment of the urban furniture.

The children's park has also received special attention, with conditioning and cleaning work that enhances both the aesthetics and functionality of the play area. According to Muñoz, these improvements aim to provide a more pleasant and safe space for families in the neighbourhood.

Complementing with Virgen de Fátima street

The works in the square will be complemented by the actions the City Council is carrying out on the nearby Virgen de Fátima street. There, the pavement is being completely renewed, and a new green area will be created with the planting of more than a dozen trees, including olive and flowering pear trees, next to the Municipal School of Music.

The delegate has emphasised that these interventions are part of the government's commitment to continue transforming Ronda, neighbourhood by neighbourhood. The goal is to improve public spaces and, consequently, the quality of life for residents. Muñoz has insisted that the renovation of Giner de los Ríos square is an example of how citizens' needs are being addressed.

The residents of La Dehesa can now enjoy a more modern and functional square. The City Council expects the works on Virgen de Fátima street to be completed in the coming weeks, which will provide a new boost to the area.
