Ronda City Council has once again put out to tender the improvement of the Mudejar patio of the Mondragón Palace, with an updated budget of €160,000. Bids can be submitted until September 21.
The Ronda City Council has relaunched the tender for the improvement of the Mudejar patio of the Mondragón Palace, after the first call received no bids. This was confirmed by the councillor for Contracting, Jorge Fernández, who noted that market prices have been updated to attract interested companies.
The project budget now amounts to €160,000, compared to the initial €135,000. Bids can be submitted until September 21, inclusive, through the Contractor Profile available on the municipal website ronda.es.
The intervention is funded with resources granted to the Ronda council by the Junta de Andalucía, as part of the aid for Tourist Municipalities, as explained by the councillor for Tourism, Ángel Martínez, who is also responsible for the municipal company Turismo de Ronda, S. A., which manages the Mondragón Palace, home to the Municipal Museum of Ronda.
The works include the repair of the patio pavement and the fountain circuit, reinforcing this element as the protagonist of the ensemble. Gardening work will also be carried out, ornamental lighting will be installed, and the sanitation of the facilities will be improved.
Additionally, the door connecting the Mudejar patio with the plaza de Mondragón will be opened as a new exit from the premises. The execution period for the works will be four months.
The Mondragón Palace has received improvements in climate control and accessibility in recent years, as well as the modernisation of the Municipal Museum. As part of the Tourist Municipality aid, the City Council also financed projects in the Murallas del Carmen and the first phase of the Camino del Desfiladero del Tajo.
