The fire broke out at 22:19 on Saturday in the Mirador de Igualeja and has forced the confinement of the municipality and the evacuation of a house with three people.
A forest fire declared at 22:19 on Saturday near the Mirador de Igualeja has kept the residents of this municipality in the Serranía de Ronda confined. The Junta de Andalucía has declared the confinement as a preventive measure, as reported by Diario Sur, and has activated the emergency phase, operational situation 1, of the Plan Infoca.
The Minister of the Presidency and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, has informed about the measure, which requires residents to stay in their homes and follow official instructions. During the early hours, a house where three people were present was also evacuated as a precaution.

In the firefighting efforts, 140 forest firefighters, a Fire Reinforcement Brigade from the Autonomous Community (BRICA), four operations technicians (TOP), one extinction technician (TEX), a deputy director of the Provincial Operational Centre (COP), two logistics technicians and two environmental agents are working. On the ground, there are also seven fire engines, a Mobile Unit for Meteorology and Transmissions (UMMT), a technical office module (MOT) and a Wildfire Medical Unit (UMIF).
At first light, five aircraft have joined the efforts: a light helicopter, a heavy helicopter, two ground-attack planes and a coordination plane. Weather conditions complicate the extinguishing efforts: the preliminary analysis by the Fire Analysis Technical Unit (UTAF) recorded winds of between 30 and 35 kilometres per hour during the night, with gusts of 50 to 60 kilometres per hour.
The MA-7304 road remains closed to traffic between kilometre points 0 and 7, in Parauta, and the Coto road, which connects the MA-7300 with the A-397, is also interrupted due to the extinguishing work.
Emergency services recommend avoiding any travel in the affected area, not approaching the fire, and keeping routes clear to facilitate the passage of emergency vehicles. In case of any emergency, call 1-1-2. The fire remains active and the emergency response team continues operations in the area.
