The Junta de Andalucía has signed the execution contract with the construction company San José and expects work to begin between late October and early November. The health facility will feature 44 consultation rooms and an investment of 15 million euros.
The Junta de Andalucía has formalised the construction contract for the new health centre in Rincón de la Victoria with the construction company San José, the awarded contractor for the project. The Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, announced that the work will commence between late October and early November during the celebration of the Local Police Patron's Day.
"Today I can announce that we have already signed the construction contract for the new health centre in Rincón de la Victoria," said the minister, who added that "in just a few weeks the work will begin." Sanz was accompanied by the mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, and the territorial delegate of the Junta in Málaga, Patricia Navarro.
The new health centre will involve an investment of 15 million euros and will have a construction period of 21 months. The infrastructure will cover an approximate area of 7,600 square metres and will house emergency services, 44 new consultation rooms, two multipurpose rooms, and ten paediatric rooms, as well as rehabilitation, minor surgery, dentistry, basic radiology, and mental health services. The project also includes spaces for parking, storage, changing rooms, and technical rooms.
The mayor emphasised that the centre addresses "a need that Rincón de la Victoria has" and linked its construction to the population growth that the municipality experiences in summer. "In summer we have over 100,000 inhabitants and it was necessary to modernise health services," declared Salado, who recalled the commitment made by the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno.
Alongside the health centre, the mayor mentioned another pending project in the municipality: the fifth secondary school, whose construction has also been awarded and is expected to start soon. Salado described both projects as "two major challenges that Rincón de la Victoria faced."
