The Ronda City Council will present the 2026 Tourism Bridge Awards on Tuesday, September 29, at the Convento de Santo Domingo. The winners are Bodega Doña Felisa Viña Amaya, Hotel Montelirio, La Taberna bar, and the Benaoján Town Council for their Chacina Fair.
The Tourism Gala of Ronda already has its protagonists. The Councillor for Tourism, Ángel Martínez, announced this Thursday that Bodega Doña Felisa Viña Amaya, Hotel Montelirio, La Taberna bar, and the Benaoján Town Council for their Chacina Fair will receive the 2026 Tourism Bridge Awards, which will be presented on Tuesday, September 29 at 20:00 hours at the Convento de Santo Domingo.
The awards are part of the celebration of World Tourism Day, which is commemorated this Sunday, September 27. The municipal company Turismo de Ronda, S. A. organizes the gala, which meets the traditional annual appointment of the sector in the city.
“We recognise companies that help build the Ronda brand. I always repeat that visitors come to Ronda for its natural heritage, its gastronomy, its monuments… But they become loyal due to the good professionals we have in the sector,” explained Martínez.
The councillor added that the awards are “a way to thank them for their daily work.” Regarding the awarded winery, Martínez highlighted that Doña Felisa Viña Amaya has just inaugurated its new facilities in the vicinity of the archaeological site of Acinipo after an investment of more than ten million euros supported by the Junta de Andalucía. The winery, linked to the Losantos family, will expand its production capacity and improve its positioning in the wine tourism offer.
The Hotel Montelirio, a four-star establishment, is located in the historic centre of Ronda, on an ancient 17th-century manor house. “It is another family business that is not only known for its accommodation but also for its restaurant, which delights both locals and visitors and offers spectacular views,” emphasised the councillor.
Regarding La Taberna bar, located in the Plaza del Socorro, Martínez pointed out that “it has managed to reinterpret traditional cuisine, classic dishes, with a new twist.” The councillor remembered its manager: “We all look for Carlos, so beloved by the whole city; we want to thank him for his excellent service.”
In the category dedicated to the Serranía, the award goes to the Chacina Fair of Benaoján, organised by the Town Council of this locality. The event is declared a Provincial Tourist Interest Festival by the Diputación de Málaga and takes place on the last weekend of November. It revolves around the tradition of over a century of this town in the production of cured meats and its associated sector.
