The WhatsApp assistant for the Málaga Fair concludes its second edition with nearly 8,000 messages and almost 800 users. 65% of the activity was from repeat inquiries.

The conversational assistant TuFerIA, operational via WhatsApp during the Málaga Fair, closed its second edition with nearly 8,000 messages exchanged by almost 800 citizens and visitors. The tool, developed by Internal·IA with the support of the Málaga City Council, was available throughout the entire festive week.

Recurrence was one of the most striking data points: 65% of the activity was from users who used the service more than once, and one in three conversations included three or more questions. This confirms that TuFerIA was not just a one-off inquiry, but a guide for ongoing use.

This year, the tool expanded its functions. In addition to the official programme of the Fair, it allowed users to inquire about Mobility, SMASSA, EMT, Málaga Metro, Canal Málaga, and real-time parking occupancy at the Real.

During the Fair days, TuFerIA conducted nearly 3,000 inquiries to dynamic data sources. More than half of these were related to real-time parking availability, one of the biggest concerns for attendees.

The location of booths was among the most common questions, alongside inquiries about parking, special buses, EMT lines, Metro, and Commuter trains. According to usage data provided by its managers, 19 out of every 20 questions received a useful and immediate response.

The service was active 24 hours a day, with significant activity during the early hours: around 11% of messages were recorded between 00:00 and 06:00, mainly to inquire about night transport, schedules, booth locations, or how to get home.

The days 15 and 16 of August saw a large portion of the usage, while the morning and midday periods recorded the highest peaks of inquiries, linked to daily planning.

The assistant also had reach beyond the venue. Among users who shared their location, approximately one in three was in the Real or its surroundings, and one in four made the inquiry from outside Málaga city. Additionally, 12% of conversations were conducted in languages other than Spanish, reflecting the impact of international tourism at the Fair.

For the residents of Málaga, TuFerIA has become a practical resource for navigating the Real without missing a detail. The service, which is now a classic of the Fair, will continue to be available in future editions, presumably with new features.
