The town of Málaga will benefit from an investment of nearly 48 million euros aimed at repairing damage to the road network. This effort is part of the Andalucía Actúa Plan, approved following the storms that affected the region earlier this year.
Patricia Navarro, the Andalusian Government delegate in Málaga, highlighted the importance of the actions being carried out. During a visit to the works on the A-7150 road in Casares, where the Junta has invested 2.39 million euros, she emphasized that 40% of the works on the roads owned by the regional government have already been completed.
Actions and budget of the Andalucía Actúa Plan
The Andalucía Actúa Plan has a budget of over 1.78 billion euros at the regional level. In Málaga, 250 million euros have been mobilized for repairs. According to Navarro, the aim is to restore road communication between municipalities and prioritize the road safety of users.
It is expected that actions will take place on 40 roads in the province, spread across 36 municipalities, and many of the works have already been completed or are in their final phase.
Details of the work on the A-7150 in Casares
The A-7150 road suffered significant damage due to landslides, prompting the Andalusian Government to initiate emergency works at the end of February. These include slope stabilization and drainage improvements, covering a total of 12,000 square meters.
High-strength nets and dynamic barriers have been installed to prevent future landslides. Ditches have also been cleared, and affected marking elements have been repositioned. The most notable work is located at kilometer point 1+850, where a slope of 5,750 square meters has been stabilized.
Patricia Navarro reaffirmed that the Government's priority has been to restore normalcy in communications, repair infrastructure, and ensure the safety of drivers. Additionally, she recalled the implementation of a new plan for the renewal and resurfacing of roads, equipped with 17.5 million euros for the province.
The plan includes improvements to several provincial roads and reinforces the commitment of the Andalusian Government to manage the road network in the face of adverse weather phenomena.
