Marbella, 25 August 2026. The Minister of Housing, Youth and Land Management, Rocío Díaz, visited the Inturjoven Hostel in Marbella on Tuesday, where works have begun to offer new services and facilities to young people. Alongside the mayor Ángeles Muñoz, she highlighted the importance of this work.
Details of the work
The intervention, which will involve an investment of €24.8 million from the Marbella City Council, includes the construction of an underground car park with 571 spaces, as well as new sports facilities and recreational green areas. The completion of the works is expected to take place in 2028.
The new car park will be divided into two levels, one of which will be designated for residents and the other will operate on a rotation basis. Additionally, 80 spaces will be reserved for hostel users.
Institutional collaboration and benefits
Díaz highlighted the collaboration between administrations and stressed that "citizens want solutions." The minister also commented on the efficient use of public assets to improve the services offered to citizens.
The project not only includes the car park but also the creation of a multi-sport area that will be used for various sports, expanding the offerings for young people. Green spaces with outdoor activity areas and a service building for the sports facilities will be added.
Furthermore, it is expected that the hostel will house an office of the Andalusian Employment Service, further facilitating access to services for young people.
From the beginning of the year until 20 August 2026, the Inturjoven Hostel has hosted 3,884 people, with 50.08% of users being under 26 years old. This figure reinforces the youth function of the hostel, which has received guests from 55 different nationalities.
The mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, has described this project as an example of collaboration between institutions, emphasizing that it will address a historical need in the area and improve the quality of life for citizens.
