In Málaga, the Junta de Andalucía has presented the cycle 'Órgano de Andalucía. Music and Heritage', which includes two highlighted concerts in the province. The performances are scheduled for 17 October at the Collegiate Church of San Sebastián in Antequera and 14 November at the Parish of Our Lady of the Incarnation in Marbella.
Details of the musical cycle
This musical cycle will take place in 14 Andalusian municipalities, with a total of 16 concerts from 26 September to 22 November. The aim is to highlight the Andalusian musical heritage through the performance of historic organs and sacred music.
The Minister of Culture, Patricia del Pozo, emphasised the importance of rediscovering Andalucía through its cultural and musical heritage. Organists and other performers will participate, offering a unique cultural experience in spaces that are sometimes not open to the public.
Featured artists and programme
Among the performers are organists Carlo Torlontano and Francesco Di Lernia, who will present a special programme combining the Alpine horn and the organ, highlighting the uniqueness of this combination. Additionally, Frédéric Deschamps, titular organist of the cathedral of Sainte-Cécile in Albi, will present works from historical repertoires in Arcos de la Frontera.
The programme also includes the participation of other renowned artists, who will offer various instrumental combinations, recovering sounds from past periods and promoting the knowledge and enjoyment of these historical instruments.
