The first vice president and councillor for the Presidency, Health and Emergencies of the Andalusian Government, Antonio Sanz, presented today in Málaga the main lines of action of his department for the current legislative term. This plan aims to strengthen the anticipatory capacity of public administrations and improve Andalusian public services.
Antonio Sanz pointed out that the goal is to advance on a solid foundation of trust and stability, responding to the new economic and social challenges of the community. Social dialogue has been emphasised as essential in the action of the Andalusian Executive, highlighting the importance of seeking agreements with economic and social agents.
Transformation of the Healthcare System
Public health has been an important focus in Sanz's intervention, who announced a profound transformation of the Andalusian healthcare system. A new Law of Guarantee for the Public Healthcare System is expected to be developed, which will protect patients' rights and ensure more accessible and efficient care.
A key innovation in this reform is the creation of an evaluation committee that will include experts and professionals, with the aim of adapting the system to future challenges. Sanz emphasised that "the law will be from the public for the public."
Priorities and Advances in Emergencies
Public health has also been mentioned as another major priority, with a focus on epidemiological surveillance and the capacity to respond to health threats. The creation of a permanent committee for public health emergencies is also announced, along with the strengthening of vaccination campaigns. Sanz stressed the importance of health education and promoting healthy habits among the school population.
Digital transformation is also central to the strategy, with initiatives such as Digital Citizen and the use of artificial intelligence to improve clinical diagnoses. Furthermore, the Health Innovation Hub will be promoted, aiming to make Andalusia a benchmark in biomedical research.
Antonio Sanz also reaffirmed the Government's commitment to healthcare professionals, announcing the negotiation of a legislative agreement that will include measures to protect these workers against assaults and cyberbullying. The future regulation will establish penalties that can reach 60,000 euros.
