Presentation of the roadmap in Málaga

On Monday, in Málaga, the Councillor for University, Industry, Energy and Innovation, Jorge Paradela, presented to the UGT leaders in Andalusia the strategic lines for his department in the new legislature.

Objectives and lines of action

During the meeting, the councillor emphasised that one of the main objectives is to leverage the connection between the knowledge ecosystem, industry and the business fabric in the coming years. To this end, five objectives, 20 monitoring indicators and an initial plan of 33 lines of action have been established, which will extend from 2026 to 2030.

Paradela highlighted that integrating the competencies related to universities, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, industry, energy and mining into a single department will create an ecosystem where the university generates talent, science produces knowledge, and entrepreneurship turns it into business opportunities. Thus, the aim is to move away from isolated sectoral policies and promote a cohesive strategy.

The meeting is part of a series of meetings that the councillor has held with social agents and the university community, to specify the initial programme of initiatives that his department will carry out until 2030. The new department commits to maintaining constant dialogue and collaborating with institutions and business agents to achieve its goals.

Furthermore, the department has structured its lines of action around three main purposes: to generate prosperity, achieve strategic autonomy, and foster knowledge-based leadership. These goals will be included in a framework that will be measured through the 20 indicators mentioned, with the incorporation of new initiatives in collaboration with the rectors of the public universities in Andalusia in the coming weeks.
