The Málaga Metropolitan Transport Consortium will reinforce its services with 188,232 additional seats during the Fair, which will take place from 15 to 22 August. Almost double that of last year.
The special operation of the Málaga Metropolitan Transport Consortium will be in effect from 15 to 22 August, inclusive, with the exception of the new route connecting to Almogía, which will start on the 17th. The aim, according to the territorial delegate for Housing, Youth and Land Planning and Promotion and Mobility of the Junta de Andalucía in Málaga, María Rosa Morales, is to provide a "smooth, comfortable and safe" service to the fairgrounds at the Cortijo de Torres.
The figure of 188,232 additional seats represents "practically double" the number allocated last year for the same purpose, Morales specified. With this increase, the aim is to encourage residents of the municipalities in the province who wish to visit the capital's Fair to "leave their cars and use public transport," she added.
This year sees the launch of a route that will connect the Málaga Fair with Almogía daily from 17 to 22 August, with six single trips. Additionally, the M-429 Málaga Fair-Coín-Alhaurín el Grande line has been reinforced with six additional daily trips, and the M-424 Málaga Fair-Alhaurín de la Torre-Pinos de Alhaurín increases by two trips.
The M-426 Málaga Fair-Fuengirola-Las Lagunas (Mijas) line will have one additional daily single trip during the fair days. The schedules, according to Morales, "have been designed to meet the different needs of users, both for those who prefer to return early and for those who decide to stay at the Cortijo de Torres until the early hours of the morning."
The Consortium will connect the Cortijo de Torres with a total of 17 municipalities: Benalmádena Costa, Rincón de la Victoria, Torremolinos, Las Lagunas de Mijas, Fuengirola, Alhaurín de la Torre, Pinos de Alhaurín, Álora, Almogía, Pizarra, Colmenar, Cártama Pueblo, Cártama Estación, Casabermeja, La Redonda, Alhaurín el Grande, Coín, Riogordo, Valle de Abdalajís and Villanueva de la Concepción.
For attendees, the recommendation is to check the updated schedules on the Consortium's website before travelling, as the frequencies adapt to the fair's timings, with return services running until the early morning. The Málaga Fair 2026 will be held from 15 to 22 August in the capital.
