The province of Málaga estimates a production of 63,373 tonnes of table olives for the 2026-2027 campaign, according to data presented by the Junta de Andalucía. This report indicates a 9% increase compared to the previous campaign.
Relevant data from the olive harvest
According to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, a total of 1,261,200 tonnes of olive oil is expected in Andalucía, which implies a 23.9% increase compared to the final production of the previous campaign.
Jaén leads olive oil production with 575,000 tonnes, representing 45.6% of the total in the region. Córdoba and Sevilla are estimated at 339,700 and 142,000 tonnes, respectively.
Table olive production and employment
The production of oil olives, which is expected to reach 6,849,200 tonnes, has Jaén producing more than 42% of the total. Additionally, organic production has been favoured, with an 80.5% increase compared to the previous campaign.
In terms of employment, it is estimated that harvesting will generate 21.6 million workdays in Andalucía, with Jaén being the province that will record the most workdays dedicated to this activity.
This increase in production and investment in organic production reinforces the commitment of the Junta de Andalucía to the olive sector, improving both supply and employability in the region.
