The Local Government Board has approved the bases to fill 15 permanent positions through competitive examination, with two reserved for people with disabilities. The mayor highlights that 25 permanent positions have been offered in three years.
The Alhaurín el Grande Town Hall has approved the bases for a new public employment call to fill 15 permanent positions through the competitive examination procedure, as reported by the City Council. The process will be governed by the principles of equality, merit, and capacity, and will be open to all individuals who meet the requirements.
The offered positions are distributed among various municipal services: one first-class gardening official, one first-class metal carpentry official, two plumbing officials, two masonry officials, one masonry labourer, two cleaning workers, two street cleaning workers, two truck drivers, and two image and sound technicians. Of the total, two positions are reserved for people with disabilities, in accordance with current regulations.
The mayor and councillor for Personnel, Anthony Bermúdez, has emphasised the change in the personnel policy of the City Council during the current term: “In just three years of government, 10 public employment calls have been held and 25 permanent positions have been offered in the Town Hall”. Bermúdez has defended that the processes are based on “transparency, equality, merit, and capacity”, with the aim of “building a more democratic, more transparent, and fairer Town Hall”.
The councillor for Employment, Luis Miguel Molina, has encouraged interested parties to participate and has compared the current management with the previous one: “In 23 years of government by the Popular Party, only eight positions were called, while in less than three years this government team has already offered 25 permanent positions”. The councillor for Public Works, Housing and Sustainable Development, Teresa Sánchez, has pointed out that the call “demonstrates the effort to profoundly change the personnel policy of the Town Hall”.
The bases of the call will be available for consultation once they are officially published, detailing requirements, procedures, and deadlines. Additionally, the mayor has announced that a new public employment offer to fill six civil servant positions will be announced in the coming weeks.
