The Alhaurín de la Torre City Council has tendered a €62,700 contract to renew the equipment of the Local Police, which includes bulletproof vests and standard weapons. The agreement, lasting four years, adds to the expansion of the police force.
The Alhaurín de la Torre City Council has initiated the tendering of a new contract aimed at improving the equipment of the Local Police, with a maximum investment of €62,700 (including VAT). The objective is to provide officers with updated technical and protective means for their daily work.
The contract, already published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, is processed through a simplified open procedure and will last for four years. It is divided into two lots to facilitate the participation of companies specialised in each type of material.
The first lot corresponds to the supply of bulletproof vests with ballistic and knife protection, along with their covers and accessories. The second lot includes the acquisition of standard issue weapons, magazines, anti-theft holsters, and other associated elements.
The technical specifications set high standards of quality and safety. The vests must be ergonomic to facilitate mobility and reduce fatigue, while the weapons must meet the technical requirements of the police service. All material must be new and certified.
As this is a contract based on unit prices, the City Council will make purchases according to the needs of the service during the four years of validity. The tender also requires guarantees, availability of spare parts, and maximum response times for incidents.
This initiative, driven by the Department of Citizen Security led by Francisco José Sánchez, is part of a municipal strategy to modernise the resources of the Local Police. According to municipal sources, the aim is to increase the security and effectiveness of officers in their daily work.
The enhancement of equipment is in addition to the process of expanding the police force. Recently, the call for 13 new Local Police positions has been published, which will be added to the current personnel once the selection process is completed. Additionally, eight other officers who passed the previous call are undergoing the mandatory training course before joining the service in the coming months.
With this investment, the Alhaurín de la Torre City Council continues its commitment to citizen security, combining the improvement of material resources with an increase in the number of officers. Residents of the municipality will see enhanced police protection in terms of both equipment and personnel.
The deadline for submitting bids for the tender is already open, and interested companies can consult the specifications on the Public Sector Contracting Platform. The award will be made in the coming weeks, and it is expected that the new equipment will be operational before the end of the year.
