The Alhaurín de la Torre Town Hall has completed maintenance works on the football fields and paddle courts in Los Manantiales, with an investment of nearly €10,000.
The works, which have now been completed, include the rubber infill on the 11-a-side football pitch at the Los Manantiales Stadium, a key operation to maintain cushioning and ball bounce. The Councillor for Sports, Sergio Cortés, highlighted that this is a commitment from the mayor, Joaquín Villanova, to the local clubs and users.
Actions at various sports facilities
In addition to the main pitch, similar work has been carried out on the 7-a-side football pitches in Los Manantiales, Carranque, and El Pinar, as well as at the ‘Francis Ceballos’ Paddle Complex. The works have included brushing the fibre, vacuum cleaning and screening, joint inspection, and revitalisation of the synthetic grass.
The councillor recalled that these tasks are in addition to the regular maintenance carried out by the area’s workers throughout the year, thus ensuring the facilities are in good condition for the upcoming sports season.
Investment for the new season
The total investment amounts to €10,000, an amount that the Town Hall considers necessary for local athletes to enjoy facilities in optimal condition. The football and paddle clubs and schools in Alhaurín de la Torre will directly benefit from these improvements, which aim to extend the lifespan of the artificial grass.
“It was a commitment from the mayor to the clubs and users, to ensure that the facilities are in the best possible condition at the start of the season,” noted Sergio Cortés.
The works have been carried out by the staff of the Sports area, who have coordinated the tasks to minimise disruption to users. With these actions, the municipality is preparing to welcome the hundreds of athletes who use these courts daily.
For the residents, these improvements represent an incentive to engage in sports in quality facilities, promoting a healthy lifestyle in the locality. The Town Hall expects that the next actions will focus on other sports facilities in the municipality.
