The fairground moves to the esplanade of the IES Margarita Salas, concentrating all activities in one space. The programme includes musical tributes, queen elections, a craft market, and a popular paella.
The Torre de Benagalbón Fair, in the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria, debuts a new location this year. The venue will move to the esplanade of the IES Margarita Salas, while the attractions will be set up about 200 meters away, at the plot at the intersection of Calle Alíseos and Camino Viejo de Vélez. The decision aims to concentrate leisure offerings and facilitate the mobility of attendees.
The event, which will take place from July 31 to August 2, will kick off on Friday with the opening speech by the managers of Asador La Carreta, Alicia Rando Gutiérrez and Antonio Luis Rando Salas. A new feature will be the election of the Children's Queen of the Fair, open to girls aged between 3 and 8, which joins the traditional election of the Queen of the Festivities and her Honorary Ladies, aimed at young women over 14.
Retro-Rumba Night and Musical Tributes
Saturday, August 1, will be dedicated to Retro-Rumba Night, featuring dance exhibitions and performances by Orquesta Nahuel and Dani, Bordón 4 Oficial, and Los Calis Oficial. Sunday, August 2, will offer an intense day with workshops for seniors, dancing, belly dancing, the traditional popular paella, and musical performances, including tributes to Miguel Poveda and María Jiménez, as well as a concert by the group Twingo, which will provide the grand finale.
The councillor for Culture, Fairs, and Festivals, Paz Couto, has highlighted that “this new location represents a significant improvement for the development of the fair, bringing together cultural, gastronomic, and recreational activities in one place.” She also emphasised the variety of the programme, which combines traditions with musical proposals, children's activities, dancing, gastronomy, and entertainment.
Craft Market and Attraction Area
Another novelty of this edition will be the inclusion of a craft market, featuring nearly twenty stalls from local creators and artisans. The attraction area, which will this year offer a greater variety of children's and youth attractions, will be located about 200 meters from the official booth, facilitating mobility between both spaces.
Children's Days will be celebrated on July 29 and 30 with special prices for attractions. Additionally, as an inclusion measure, all fair days will feature a sound-free hour from 20:30 to 21:30, to enhance the enjoyment of individuals with sensory sensitivities.
The mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, has praised “the family-friendly and welcoming nature of an open and close fair, driven by the local residents and transformed into one of the most anticipated events of the summer, attracting hundreds of people every year during the first weekend of August.”
The president of the Torresol Neighbourhood Association, Juan Alemán, has expressed gratitude for “the involvement of the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall, as well as the support from sponsors, collaborating companies, local businesses, artisans, associations, volunteers, and residents, whose commitment makes it possible for the Torre de Benagalbón Fair to continue growing and establishing itself as one of the municipality's key summer celebrations.”
The promotional poster for this edition is the work of local artist and Torre de Benagalbón resident, Ana Peinado, who has captured in her creation the cheerful, welcoming, and festive character of a celebration that, after 48 years of history, remains one of the most emblematic events of the summer in the municipality.
For the residents of Rincón de la Victoria and visitors, the fair represents an opportunity to enjoy three days of leisure in a renewed environment. The new, more central and accessible location promises to enhance the experience for attendees, who will be able to enjoy all activities without having to travel long distances.
